Dress Code

Dining Room

Men

Slacks or nice jeans, a collared shirt, and a sports coat (requested but not required).​

Not Permitted - Caps or hats, shirts without collars (including crew necks, fishnet shirts, tank tops, and t-shirts), cut-off shorts, athletic shorts, swimsuits, tennis shorts, cargo shorts, or jogging attire.

Ladies

Dresses, skirts, slacks, dress jeans, and dress shorts of appropriate length are permitted. Blouses, sweaters, or tops with sleeves or collars are preferred.

Not Permitted - Caps or hats, tank tops, crop tops, halter tops, t-shirts, cut-off shorts, athletic-style shorts, swimsuits, tennis skirts or shorts, cargo shorts, and jogging attire.

Exception: Wednesday evenings after Couples Golf and Tournaments – golf attire permitted

The Bar is for adults only (no children under the age of 18).

Men

Jeans, golf slacks, Bermuda shorts, walking shorts, and cargo shorts are acceptable. Shirts must be tucked in, and a belt must be worn.

Golf Course

Men

Golf slacks, Bermuda shorts,  or walking shorts are acceptable. Shirts must have a collar, mock collar, remain tucked in, and worn with a belt.

Not Permitted - Shirts without collars (including crew necks, fishnet shirts, tank tops, and t-shirts), cut-off shorts, athletic shorts, swimsuits, tennis shorts, blue jeans, cargo shorts, or jogging attire.

Ladies

Shirts must have a collar and/or sleeves. Golf slacks, skirts, skorts, or Bermuda-length shorts are acceptable.

Not Permitted - Halter tops, swimsuit tops, revealing clothing, short shorts, cut-offs, athletic shorts, tennis shorts, or jogging attire.

Children are governed by the same attire rules as adults.

 

Headwear MUST be worn in a traditional, bill-forward fashion.

 

ONLY soft spikes approved by the Club are permitted on the golf course.

 

Members are expected to inform their guests of attire guidelines to avoid any inconvenience.

 

Club Members will be reminded if they are not in compliance with the dress code.

Golf Course

Pro Shop & Course Operations

Pro Shop hours will be posted in the Weekly Update Blast and on the website.

The Golf Professional and/or Pro Shop staff are in complete charge of the Pro Shop, club storage room, club cleaning, starting times, and all play on the golf course.

a

All golfers must register in the Pro Shop before commencing play.

a

All play is governed by USGA Rules, subject to local course rules, which are posted in the Pro Shop.

All scores must be posted to establish a handicap.

Course Access & Eligibility

The golf course is open Tuesday through Sunday to the following:​

Members

The Member's spouse or authorized significant other

The Member's spouse or authorized significant other 

The Member's children under 21 years of age

The Member's children ages 21-24 who are full-time students

The Member's guests

On Mondays, the course is open to Members and their guests, with guest registration required the weekend prior​​

Guest
Policies

Guests may play a maximum of:

a

Three rounds during the season (March-October)

Unlimited rounds during the off-season (November-February).

a

These limits app to local guests (residing within a 40-mile radius.

a

Out-of-town guests are not subject to these limitations.

a

Guests must be accompanied by a Member while playing unless prior arrangements are made with the Golf Professional or General Manager.

Fees & Charges

Green fees for eligible guests are posted in the Pro Shop and set by the Board of Directors.

Green fees and cart fees must be charged to the Host Member’s account or paid by cash or credit card.

Cart Rules

Carts must be returned to the Pro Shop no later than 10 minutes prior to sunset.

Carts must remain:

At least 30 feet from tees and greens

Outside 4x4 white posts near greens

Member Responsibility

Members are financially responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their families, or their guests to greens, flagsticks, carts, or other Club property.

Outside food and beverages are prohibited on the golf course.

Club towels may not be taken onto the golf course.

Practice Facility Guidelines

Practice is limited to designated areas only, including the driving range and putting green.

Chipping to or putting on regular course greens is strictly prohibited.

Please use the practice chipping green behind the 10th green or the putting green.

Course Care & Etiquette

Please help maintain the course by:

Repairing all divots

Repairing all ball marks on greens (tools available in the Pro Shop)

Raking sand bunkers after use (rakes are provided in bunkers)

Disposing of trash in designated receptacles

Weather & Course Conditions

In inclement weather, play may be restricted.

This determination will be made by the Golf Professional and/or Golf Course Superintendent.

Grandchildren Golf Fees

Any grandchild may play with no charge for green fees or cart fees, an unlimited number of times, as long as they are playing with a grandparent. The grandchild must be 15 years of age or younger. At age 16, full green and cart fees apply, as well as the 3 times per year restriction.​

Local Rules

Penalty Areas are marked by red/yellow stakes or lines.

 

Out of Bounds is determined by the inside edge of the road starting on the tee box on #8 and continues around the left side of holes #8, #9, #10, and up to the creek on hole #11. There is also OB along the left side of hole #14 (white stakes) until it reaches the creek, in which it turns into a Penalty Area with red stakes.

 

On Hole #16 / #17 - the maintenance facility is marked by white stakes with blue tips. Whether you find your ball or not, with all parties agreeing that the ball must be in the maintenance area, you may take FREE relief at the ball drop area. On hole #16, it’s near the red tee markers marked by a white stake. On hole #17, it’s in the fairway marked by a white stake.

 

Hole #12 is a dogleg to the right. DO NOT play your tee shot down #13 for the safety of the players on that hole. Any tee shot coming to rest on the “Hole Side” of the cart path on #13 will be deemed out of bounds.

 

Ground Under Repair (GUR), Telephone/Power Lines, Telephone Poles, Fan & Irrigation Post - All downed trees or trees cut and piled for removal are considered GUR. All newly laid sod is to be played as GUR. If a fan, fan post, irrigation box, or telephone pole interferes with your swing, stance, or line of play to the hole, you may (without penalty) drop within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief that is not closer to the hole. Additionally, if a ball strikes a utility wire or pole, the shot must be replayed without penalty

Golf Carts

Cart Fee Exemptions

The following individuals are exempt from cart fees when riding with another player:

Members

Any Members paying monthly on-site cart storage fees.

Any Members paying monthly off-site cart storage fees.

Non-Members

An out-of-town house guest of a Member, when riding with that Member.

Cart Storage Facilities

The individual Member/lessee of each storage unit shall be responsible for all belongings stored within the individual cart storage unit, and will also be responsible for securing the same in a fashion satisfactory to the lessee.

 

At any time, the facility rented to the Member/lessee comes to need repair, the Member will contact the Golf Pro and the Club will make the necessary repairs occurring as a result of normal wear and tear. The Member/lessee will be responsible for any damage caused by the Member/lessee.

 

At any time, in the discretion of the Club, if the door associated with the unit rented by the Member/lessee needs replacement, the Club will bear the cost of said replacement. To the extent the Member(s) choose to pay the cost of any upgrade of door or equipment, the Member(s) shall be responsible for any cost associated with said upgrade.

 

A list of all approved providers shall be maintained in the office of the Club.

 

No door may be installed, painted or otherwise modified or changed without the consent of the Graymere Board of Directors.

Events

Requests & Approvals

Any member or non-member event, meeting, gathering, or celebration hosted at Graymere Country Club that requires the reservation of a room and/or rooms must first be submitted to the House Committee for event approval. The House Committee will return its approval of the requested event within ten days of receiving the request, once it confirms the availability of the requested event date.

 

Event requests must be submitted to the House Committee for approval promptly outlined by the submission dates below. Any event request submitted outside of these guidelines will be denied.

 

Events with fewer than 50 guests: must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the requested event date.

Events with 50-100 guests: must be submitted at least 45 days in advance of the requested event date.

Events with 100+ guests: must be submitted at least 60 days in advance of the requested event date.

 

Should an active member request to host an event on a date on which a non-member-hosted event is already booked, and the member’s request is submitted more than twelve months in advance of the requested event date, the active member’s event will override the non-member’s event reservation and therefore replace the non-member’s event reservation.

 

Member clubs, such as the Mahjong and Bridge groups, that do not require the use of an entire room or area of the Clubhouse, do not need to submit their gathering to the House Committee for approval.

Event Reservations: The Board Room

Any active member in good standing wishing to rent and use the Boardroom (and only the Boardroom) does not need to submit an event request to the House Committee for approval. Rather, members wishing to reserve and use this space must simply submit a reservation to the Food and Beverage Manager to reserve the space for their gathering. Reservations for the use of the Boardroom must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the requested event date.

Any non-member wishing to rent and use the Boardroom for their sponsored event must follow the approval guidelines for all event requests and approvals listed in the section above.

Room Rental
Fees

Below are the applicable fees to rent a room and/or rooms for any event or business function at Graymere Country Club. Room rental fees only apply to non-members hosting a sponsored event at the Club. Room rental fees are waived for any active member in good standing hosting their own private event at the Club.

Boardroom: $250

Main Dining Room: $500

The Grille: $250

The Bar: $250

The Veranda: $250

Total venue buyout: $1,500

If applicable, room rental fees will be added to the initial event quote at the time of review.

Deposits &
Payments

Below are the deposit and payment schedules that apply to any member or non-member event to be hosted at Graymere Country Club.

A 10% deposit of the initial event quote is due within seven days of the quote contract being signed. This deposit is nonrefundable and officially secures the event time and date.

50% of the remaining balance, based on the initial event quote, is due two weeks before the event date. An official headcount for the event is also due at this time.

The remaining balance of an event is due within one week of the host receiving their final event bill.

Cancellations &
Damages

Below are the fees that will apply to any cancellation of any event hosted at the Club.

 

Any event cancelled within five days of the scheduled event is subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

 

Any event cancelled within 72 hours of the scheduled event is subject to a 75% cancellation fee.

 

Any event cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled event is subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

 

All fees will be calculated based on the initial quote listed on the event’s signed contract.

Putting tape, adhesive strips, thumbtacks, and/or nails in or on any Graymere Country Club wall, window, doorframe, mantel, or surface is prohibited. Any damage caused to the Clubhouse or Club property as a result of an event is the financial responsibility of the event signee.

 

Any member or non-member hosting an event at Graymere Country Club will be required to sign an Incidentals Waiver at the time of signing an event contract.

Food & Beverage Minimum

Member and non-member events being hosted at Graymere Country Club must meet the following food and beverage minimums in order to be approved and hosted at the Club.

Any event that would replace and cancel a regularly scheduled Dinner Service or Brunch Service at the Club (referred to as a “Buyout”) must meet a $10,000 food and beverage minimum, before taxes.

Any event that would replace and cancel a regularly scheduled Lunch Service at the Club (Tuesday through Saturday) must meet a $1,000 food and beverage minimum, before taxes.

Any event that would not interfere with or replace a regularly scheduled Brunch, Lunch, or Dinner service does not have to meet a food and beverage minimum.

Any event requested to be hosted in the Boardroom (and only the Boardroom), at any time of any day, does not have to meet a food and beverage minimum.

Should an event request not meet the required food and beverage minimum - before taxes - as outlined above, the member or non-member will be billed the difference in cost of food versus the required minimum. This amount will go into a House Committee fund to be used for Clubhouse improvements.

Food & Beverage: Quarterly Minimum

If a member is hosting and directly paying for their own private member event, the cost of food and beverage spent on the event will go directly towards the member’s quarterly food and beverage minimum.

 

If a member is sponsoring a business or a non-member event at the Club, and the business or non-member is paying for the event themselves, the cost of food and beverage spent on the event will NOT go towards the sponsor member’s quarterly food and beverage minimum.

Active members in good standing may reserve Club facilities for approved events in accordance with these guidelines.

 

Non-members may host events at Graymere Country Club only with sponsorship from an active member in good standing. A member’s sponsorship provides the non-member host access to the Clubhouse and Club property for the approved event.

Pool Rules

Pool Access & Eligibility

Pool admission is limited to Members in good standing, the Member’s spouse or authorized significant other, the Member’s children under 21, and children over 21 who are full-time students.

 

Properly registered guests are permitted.

Admissionwill be refused to any person with a contagious disease or infectious condition.

Guest Fees:

Adult: $8

Child: $4

Pool Attire  & Personal Items

Proper swim attire is required at all times. Shorts or cutoffs are not permitted.

No glass containers are allowed in the pool area.

No dogs or pets are permitted in the pool area.

Food, Beverages, & Cleanliness

Food, drinks, gum, and tobacco products are permitted only in designated areas.

Outside food and beverages are prohibited.

Private coolers are not allowed in the pool area.

Please dispose of all trash in designated receptacles.

Safety & Supervision

A 10-minute adult-only break will occur every hour, during which only individuals 18 and older may use the pool - No lifeguards will be on duty during this time.

Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

No child may swim in the deep end unaccompanied unless they have passed a swim test, which includes swimming one length of the pool and treading water for at least 60 seconds.

Babysitters 15 years of age or older, when unaccompanied by a Member, are admitted at no charge.

Pool Behavior Rules

No running or rough play in the pool area.

No ball playing in the pool or pool area.

No diving in water less than five (5) feet deep.

Diving Board
Rules

Only one person at a time on the diving board.​ One bounce only.

Diving is permitted off the front of the board only.​ Always check the area around the board before diving.​ After diving, swim directly to the side of the diving area.

No handstands, sitting, hanging, or flotation devices are allowed on or around the diving board.

Lap Pool & Young Children

Children Children over six (6) years of age who can swim must use the lap pool.

Children who are not potty-trained must wear plastic swim pants.

Only diapers specifically designed for swimming are permitted.

Floats, Toys, & Shallow Area

Floats are not permitted in the pool.

Armbands and pool toys are allowed only in the shallow end and may be restricted by lifeguards if deemed unsafe. ​1 

Conduct & Safety

Walking & Fishing

Walking on the Course is allowed only for a member or a guest who is golfing. No other walking by members or members’ family is allowed. This is for safety and liability reasons.

 

Fishing on the Course is not allowed by members or members’ family, either at the pond on #5, or in any of the creeks that run through the Course.

 

Non-members are not allowed on the Course, and thereby are not allowed to walk or fish.

Smoking

Graymere Country Club is a Non-Smoking facility within the confines of the building.

 

If a portion of the veranda is closed by tenting for an event, the enclosed portion will become part of the building, and smoking will NOT be permitted in that area.

Animals

It is the policy of Graymere Country Club that no animals, except guide dogs, are permitted in the Clubhouse, on the swimming pool grounds, or on any of the deck areas surrounding the main level of the Clubhouse.

Members

Only animals belonging to members are permitted on the grounds around the Clubhouse or on the golf course.

Members bringing animals onto Club property are responsible for maintaining control of their animal at all times.

If a member enters the Clubhouse or temporarily leaves the animal unattended, it must be leashed and secured in an area permitted by this policy.

Members must ensure their animals do not approach or disturb other individuals, particularly children.

Members are responsible for cleaning and removing any droppings left by their animals.

Non-Members

Animals not belonging to members are not permitted on Club property and will be removed by staff or Animal Control as necessary.
